2019 Broadway World Regional Educational Theatre of the Year

The Gahanna Lincoln High School Award Winning Theatre Department teaches students about all elements of theatre production, from acting to stage crew and set building, and gives ample opportunities for students to work and perform both in productions on the school stage and around the community.

Cynthia Macioce

Director/Instructor/Master Teacher/ Senior Professional Educator

Mrs. Macioce has led the Theatre Dept. at GLHS for over 25 years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Education from Otterbein University and received a Master of Arts in Communications from Bowling Green State University. The 2019 Broadway World Regional Educational Best Director of a Musical and Best Director of a play, Mrs. Macioce has received numerous regional, state, and local awards throughout her tenure at Gahanna Lincoln. Mrs. Macioce teaches Introduction to Theatre, Introduction to Musical Theatre, Theatre Appreciation, and Performance Studio in addition to directing the Fall Play, Dinner Theatre, and Spring Musical every year. Mrs. Macioce focuses on building relationships because she believes you cannot make good theatre without them. She pushes her students to the highest standards – not just in theatre/musical theatre but as outstanding human beings as well.

Christopher Wagner

Technical Director/Instructor

Mr. Wagner has been the Technical Director at GLHS for 12 years. A graduate of GLHS, Mr. Wagner received a Bachelors of Arts in English Education degree from Capital University and Literacy and Classroom Technology Masters Degree from Walden University. The 2019 Broadway World Regional Awards Education division recipient of Best Scenic Design, Mr. Wagner has received the Ohio Council of Teachers of English Language Arts Teacher of the Year award and the National Council of Teachers of English Teacher of Excellence award for his work in the classroom. Mr. Wagner teaches Technical Theatre, Honors English 10 and AP Literature and Composition and advises the nationally award winning The Pride Yearbook. Mr. Wagner focuses on empowering students to take on all aspects of a production as he supports the build and stage crews, and believes that there’s always time for laughter during a production.
